THE STORY
Steel and gold, done exactly right. The two-tone Datejust is about as recognizable as a Rolex gets, and this blue dial is the one we always reach for: deep and rich, it shifts from navy to electric blue as it catches the light, framed by a blazing 18k fluted bezel and the two-tone Jubilee bracelet.

The 16013 arrived in the late 1970s and brought the quickset caliber 3035, so the date finally snapped over on its own instead of needing to be wound around, which helped make it one of the defining Datejusts of its era. Ours is from 1979, with a 6.0 mil serial and a period correct Jubilee bracelet from 1981.
