THE STORY
If you only ever own one vintage Heuer, make it a Carrera. Jack Heuer launched the Carrera in 1963, naming it after the legendary Carrera Panamericana road race and stripping the dial right back so a driver could read it at a glance. The 2447S is that idea in its purest form: a clean, silver dial, three crisp silver registers, slim applied batons, and nothing else in the way.
Our example is a later first execution from around 1967–68, with “T Swiss” tritium lume and the Valjoux 72 inside, the same chronograph calibre found in the Daytonas of the era. At 36mm with faceted lugs, it wears neat and sharp. A true design icon, and one of the easiest vintage chronographs to live with every day.
