THE STORY
The Rolex GMT-Master is perhaps the most iconic watches the brand ever produced. Its origin dates back to a commission request by Pan American World Airways in for their fleet of pilots who needed access to different time zones and carried a bi-direction bezel to show a different time zone.
Recently, the Root Beer has become quite a popular choice for collectors, and we can see why. While the blue and red bezel Rolex 1675 "Pepsi" is what defines the GMT, the "Root Beer" is more unique, and for us, more versatile watch. The classic robust construction works great as a daily wear, while the two tone gold and brown hues bring enough warmth for it to be a dressy watch as well.
Our example is is fitted with an original oyster bracelet, which is rarely seen as these models were usually fitted with a jubilee. In our view, the oyster give the Root Beer a more understated feel.
Overall, an incredible watch to wear and own.
